Abstract (at least 300 words to describe your proposal)

I attended at the Wikimanias in Haifa, Washington and Hong Kong. Latest in Washington I had to realize, that the Wikimania is not a point were the people meet, who are really creating the projects. Not the authors, not the photographers, not the draftsmans, not the graphics (called in the following simply all "authors"). But they are the back and the body of the movement. For the Wikimania 2015 there are these categories possible for submissions:

  • Wikimedia Projects in the Spanish speaking countries
  • WikiCulture & Community
  • Technology, Interface & Infrastructure
  • Legal & Free Culture
  • GLAM & Outreach
  • Education Outreach

There is not longer room for Wikimedians other than administrators, bureaucrats and technicians. And at the same time we have lost many authors in many projects. Are we lacking of respect for the authors? For bureaucracy we have conferences as the "Wikimedia Conference" So the question is: should the movement - and with the movement also the Wikimania - take a step back and be a again part of the "simple" Wikipedians life? Should the Wikimania be the place where the authors meet - or the administrators?
