Official explanation of shift away from Biblioteca Vasconcelos?

Hi folks, was there an official explanation of the change of venue from Biblioteca Vasconcelos to this new location? The official bid had an extensive description of the library. Ah, I see now that this was briefly explained by @EYoung_(WMF): (Ellie Young) of the Wikimedia Foundation when the early bird registration announcement was made on May 8 to the Wikimedia-L mailing list. [1]

* WMF and WM-MX are grateful to Conaculta and the Biblioteca Vasconcelos for their kind offer to host the conference at the magnificent Biblioteca. However, due to logistical issues, we had to change the venue to the Hilton Hotel La Reforma. We will continue to work with both Conaculta and the Biblioteca Vasconcelos to leverage the experience and capacity of all institutions to generate and disseminate content that guarantees free and open knowledge to the whole of society.

How to get to the venue?

Hi Folks,

Can anyone clearly explain how can I get to the venue from the airport by metro/bus/train/whatever? How many stops to take, where to take off, etc? Thanx, OrsolyaVirág (talk) 20:07, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have that information, but I arrived yesterday with a few colleagues, and we took a cab together for 305 MXN (~$20), which seems like good value for the convenience, especially if you coordinate with someone and share the ride and the cost. If you do that, be sure to use the "Authorized taxis" booths right after customs, in the arrival hall. You pay them in advance and get a receipt and are taken to the cab.
