I'm Q65501643. A lawyer and a Wikimedian. I live in Warsaw, Poland. I'm interested in a wide range of topics (to some degree, and way below the professional level) including history, geography, urban planning, international relations, management, even philosophy and modern physics. My nick is in quenya.
Although I work for the Wikimedia Foundation, contributions under this account are exclusively in my volunteer capacity, that is either my personal or WMPL capacity. See SGrabarczuk (WMF) for anything related to my contracted work.
My opinion on the state of the Movement
We have a great potential. There are many skilled, devoted Wikimedians with varied backgrounds and healthy behaviour, willing to cooperate. I just love to work in this diverse, multicultural environment.
However, Wikimedia needs more management on many levels, some not recognized, although existing. We communicate poorly, re-invent the wheel too often, and learn by our mistakes too rarely. We need huge investments, particularly in research and software. There are inertia and chilling effects, mixed with chaotic unpredictability and centrisms. We need a clear, well communicated and widely internalized vision, boldly executed by risk-tolerant leaderships.
Some of my formal and informal roles in the Movement (the role continues unless specified otherwise)
