Luis’s latest venture, Duolingo, is a platform providing free language education to the world that was named Apple’s iPhone App of the Year 2013 and is now the most popular education app in the world on Android and iOS.

Duolingo has grown to be the largest language learning platform in the world, with over 100 million users via word of mouth alone.

Luis will describe what led him to create Duolingo, how its community is generating new free language courses collaboratively, how access to data is enabling the optimization of education in a way previously impossible and exciting new steps ahead in the way of democratizing access to language education.
